How It All Began

Michelle’s thyroid journey started while she was in the process of trying to become pregnant. During routine medical evaluations, doctors discovered that her thyroid levels were high, leading to a diagnosis that required immediate attention. To regulate her thyroid function, she was prescribed levothyroxine, a common medication for thyroid management.


Lifestyle Changes and Adjustments

As part of her treatment plan, Michelle’s doctor advised her to go gluten-free, a dietary adjustment that initially seemed overwhelming. While she had always been open to various food options, this shift required her and her family to navigate new eating habits and understand the limitations of a gluten-free lifestyle. Over time, she adapted to these changes, finding new ways to enjoy meals while prioritizing her health.


Finding Balance with Medication

Initially, Michelle was placed on a high dosage of levothyroxine, which caused her to feel shaky and uneasy. Recognizing these symptoms, her doctor adjusted the dosage to better suit her needs. Since her diagnosis a year ago, she has experienced weight loss and continues to monitor her progress closely.
