What is Hyperthyroidism?
Hyperthyroidism occurs when the thyroid gland, a small butterfly-shaped gland located in your neck, produces too much thyroid hormone. These hormones regulate your metabolism — essentially, how your body uses energy. When there's an overproduction, it speeds up your body's processes, sometimes to dangerous levels.

Why Should You Care?
Your thyroid affects nearly every system in your body — from how fast your heart beats to how quickly you burn calories. If left untreated, hyperthyroidism can lead to serious health problems, including heart complications, brittle bones, and emotional distress.
Common Symptoms of Hyperthyroidism
Recognizing the signs is the first step toward getting the care you need. Here are some of the most common symptoms:
💓 Rapid heartbeat or palpitations
⚖️ Unexplained weight loss — even when eating normally or more than usual 😟 Anxiety, irritability, and nervousness
🔥 Heat intolerance and excessive sweating
✋ Tremors in hands or fingers
💤 Fatigue and muscle weakness
🌙 Sleep disturbances, including insomnia
If these symptoms sound familiar, you are not alone, and there is help available.
